We believe design and craft belong together.
Our StoryStudio Dengate isn't us suddenly deciding to become something new it's us finally putting a name to something we've already been doing together for years.
We've spent years transforming homes, including our own, long before we called it a business. Somewhere along the way, we realised our strengths weren't just complementary they were two sides of the same conversation. Angela sees the vision. Luke sees how to build it. Studio Dengate is what happens when those two things meet under one name.
Meet Angela
Angela leads the creative and interior design direction at Studio Dengate — the vision, the feeling, the finished space. She sees the potential in a home before anyone else does.
Meet Luke
Luke brings the practical side of renovation to the studio as a licensed carpenter. His experience means we can look beyond how something should appear and consider how it can actually be built, altered or improved.
What Sets Us Apart
Design and building aren't separate
Most studios hand a concept over to someone else to build. We don't — Luke can look at an idea and work out how to make it happen, which means fewer compromises between vision and execution.
Real trade experience, not just design theory
Luke's background includes carpentry, renovation, and years working hands-on with existing homes — and the surprises that come with them. That means practical problem-solving and honest advice before unnecessary money is spent.
We see both sides of every renovation
Angela sees the potential, the feeling and the finished space. Luke sees how we're going to make it happen. Together, we approach every project from both directions — how a home should feel, and how it needs to work.
